When you are a small insurance agency, you might be feeling the changes of the industry as a whole in a negative way. It has become harder for small agencies to compete with large insurance providers, Joining an insurance cluster may be the answer. If you have been struggling to deliver products to your customers that they want, it's time to change your strategy. If you want to go out on your own, you can do this by joining a cluster and still maintain your independence. If you love the idea of working for yourself as an insurance agent but you want the support of a group when you need it, it's time to consider how an insurance cluster can help you.
You Are in Control of Your Agency
Joining an insurance cluster or alliance does not mean you are giving up your freedom. You are still in charge of your company. When you join an alliance, you can choose how that alliance will work for you. Maybe you share space with another agent, or you share other resources. How you utilize the alliance is up to you. Take a look around and find an alliance that is line with your goals as an insurance agent.
You Can Work With Others
While you are an independent agent, joining a network gives you the opportunity to see what it would be like working with others. You don't have to commit to merging with another insurance agent, but you can see what it is like working together for your mutual benefit.
Better Access to Insurance Carriers
As any independent agent will tell you, sometimes you don't have access to insurance carries because you are not part of a group. You are easy to ignore when you work by yourself. Larger insurers are going to pay attention when you are part of a team of agents ready to sell their insurance to your waiting customers. You'll be able to provide clients with more choices when it comes to coverage.
Negotiate For Better Commissions
As a solo agent, what you bring in for business to a large insurance provider isn't worth their time. When you join an insurance cluster, carriers suddenly become interested in you and your company. As part of a large alliance, you can negotiate for better commissions because the carrier expects high volume coming from your cluster.
To build your insurance business, find an insurance cluster that is right for you. When you work along with other agents who are also trying to grow, everyone benefits together.

I still remember the first time I had to chose an insurance policy; I was 17 years old and had just saved up enough money to afford my very first car. I was so excited to begin driving, but overwhelmed with all of the different auto insurance options. My father helped me chose a full-coverage policy that would cover the cost of my car if it were to become damaged in an accident. When I inevitably caused a small fender-bender as a new driver, my insurance company paid for my car repairs, so it sure was the best policy for me! Now that I am older and have learned a lot about home insurance and other types of insurance, I thought I would make a blog to help others who need insurance advice, like what my dad gave me. I hope I can help you make wise insurance decisions!
